This study examined the microbial transformation of carbazole (CZ) by an isolated bacterium that can use CZ as a sole carbon and nitrogen source. The strain identified as Pseudomonas stutzeri produced a large amount of anthranilic acid (AA) from CZ in the medium containing a nonionic surfactant. In dialysis culture using ion-exchange resin, 7.9 g/liter (58mm) of AA was accumulated from 15g/liter (90mm) of CZ and the molar yield of AA reached about 64%. 相似文献

The Mannich reaction of kojic acid in both acidic and basic media was studied. Mono-Mannich derivatives (substitution at position 6) were obtained; the reactivity in basic medium was found to be somewhat greater than in acidic medium. Reduction of the Mannich derivatives with zinc dust and acetic acid gave a 6-methyl kojic acid (6-methyl-5-hydroxy-2-hydroxymethyl-γ-pyrone).Mono-Mannich base of pyromeconic acid was also prepared in a manner similar to that of kojic acid. From this Mannich base, maltol (2-methyl-3-hydroxy-γ-pyrone) was obtained by the reduction with zinc dust and acetic acid. 相似文献

Ciliatine (2-aminoethylphosphonic acid) (76 mg) was isolated from 72 g of lipids of the oyster with a combination of ion exchange chromatographic techniques and was identified from the results of elementary analysis, infrared spectrum, and chromatographic behaviors. The phosphonic acid was also detected in hydrolysates of a chloroform-methanol insoluble fraction of the oyster. An enzyme which released invertase from cell ghosts of Candida utilis was isolated in an electrophoretically pure state from “Zymolyase.” The molecular weight of the purified enzyme was estimated to be 5.8 × 104, and its isoelectric point was pH 6.9. The enzyme was stable in a pH range from 6.0 to 9.0, and the optimal pH for liberation of invertase from cell ghosts was around 6.0. The activity of the enzyme was competitively inhibited by glucose, mannose, and sucrose. Unlike the starting enzyme preparation, “Zymolyase,” the purified enzyme released invertase without making holes on the surface of the cell ghosts. A series of partially and heterogeneously N-acylated chitosans was prepared and isolated in 50 ~ 100% yields. The structure of N-acyl groups influenced the gelation. A trial test was attempted of complete hydrolysis of peptides and proteins into amino acids by enzymes. “Neutral proteinase” of Bacillus subtilis or “Alkalophilic proteinase” of a Streptomyces sp. was used for preliminary digestion of substrate, and a mixture of three aminopeptidases of Bacillus subtilis was employed for subsequent hydrolysis of proteinase digest.2. The oxidized insulin B chain was hydrolyzed completely by the method. Several proteins including enzymes which contained no or less cystine and cysteine were also hydrolyzed almost completely.3. A crude inhibitor for pancreatic lipase was extracted from soybean seeds. The lipase activity decreased curvilinearly with an increase in inhibitor concentration. At a low inhibitor concentration, enhanced inhibition was observed by the co-existence of protein such as bovine serum albumin in the reaction mixture. The lipase activity was inhibited immediately after the addition of inhibitor which did not cause the significant destraction of substrate emulsion. The lipase activities of Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus delemar and castor bean seeds were also inhibited. The inhibition was observed when various oil substrates such as soybean oil, linseed oil, olive oil emulsions and Ediol were used, and the extent of inhibition varied among them. Column chromatography of inhibitor on Sephadex G–100 showed that the molecular weight of a main peak of inhibitor was estimated as about 80,000. 相似文献
